Is there any way of locating a book which,? I have forgotten the authors name and there are several different books by the same name? I can remember the story well and the book was called 'The Alaskan" The hero's name was Wade Carlson and he stowed away on a steam ship and went to Alaska. The time line was sometime in the nineteen forty's and the great depression was on. When the ship tied up in the harbor Wade got a job unloading it as a stevedore and thought he had ben over paid. Later he fell in love with a Indian girl named Alice. Any and all help appreciated. i have searched for a copy of this book for many years without success.
