What information is given in an employer background check? I have a few questions about background checks done by prospective employers. 1: If they search my social security number, what information will they bring back to an employer? Is it identity verification only or will they have some kind of employment history? If I only put down one employer, my most recent, and none before that (there were several college jobs years ago) will they be able to see all of those as well? And what information will my current employer give to them in Iowa? Are there any restrictions to what they can say? I'm not worried about my criminal history I know that will be check but there is nothing there. I'm concerned about my employment history.
