What is the purpose of fake job postings on craigslist?

Thank author of this post/commentMy sister found this job posting on craigslist and I told her it sounded too good to be true and just did a Google search of her email name. I found she had the exact same postings on craiglist in Texas and in Iowa. I also found her on some scammers flake list on google too. Why do they do this? What do they get out of it and how are they scamming people?

The purpose is to steal money of course... sooner or later they will ask for a fee of some kind for something... most likely for a visa and of course claim it will be refunded to you.

Craigslist has been a famous reference for many job seekers. But it was disgusting to know that there are also fake jobs posted there. I also wonder what could be the purpose of these fake jobs on Craigslist. Is it also a sort of scam? Will the administrator increase the protection of privacy and security of the website? I think it is necessary because people want only legit jobs.
