Yahoo! Answers: Below 3.0 GPA in Top 10 engineering school?

Thank author of this post/commentI am currently a rising senior at Univ. of Michigan-college of Engineering. This summer I worked at a local engineering firm as an intern. I have a 2.93 GPA right now, but it seems that most companies hiring require a 3.0 gpa. I know the average gpa for the entire college is 2.9, so i'm just wondering how do people in my situation find jobs? I never thought finding jobs would be this difficult after working hard for all these years. Does anyone have employment statistics for Univ. of Michigan? Thanks in advance!
