| Answers: Can I settle with my leasing Agency? How do I find out where their corp Hello. I need help and advice. I just moved to a new apartment complex in June. I have always been a great renter. Due to my employer downsizing Im being laid off. I cannot afford to live here anymore. I have thought off all options to stay here but i just cant afford it with no job. I let the office know of my new financial situation but they said that due to many people in my same situation they are not letting break their lease. Im stuck for the full 12 months. You cannot even pay my way out. They will come after you for the full months you have left and the utilities. I live in the state of Missouri. Im not familiar with renting laws. I have no choice but to vacate at the end of this month. I have a daughter to look after and instead of us being evicted i choose to vacate. I have family to take us in. I offered some of my severance pay but they still said no. This is just the onsite leasing office. I want to write a letter to corporate or e-mail them informing them if my situation and offer them 3 month rent with my severance money. Corporate might agree to settle. In my state their are no jobs. They cant garnish un-employment so you think they would take the offer. Unemployment in this state is 9.3%. The website crashed due to too many people trying to get benefits. We ran out of bebefits once and we are about to run out again. I dont know what else to do. If corporate still says no then will they pull me into court, or will my account go into first collections and I make payments? I need advice. It will be greatly appreciated. |
