| Answers: What to do while I'm on unemployment? So I live in Nevada where unemployment is 15%. I've worked 2 jobs since the day I turn 16, ten years ago. On jan 19th my company laid me off and I've been job searching ever since. What on earth can you do while you are unemployed??? I have applied for almost every job possible within a 20 mile radius, I go to the gym every day, go to the library, volunteer, and spend time with family, but I'm still going stir crazy!!!! Any ideas for cheap or free things that wouldn't prevent me from being available for an interview/call at anytime? Thanks :-) |
| The best thing that you can do while you are jobless is to volunteer for some charitable works. Aside from the fact that you can help other people, you can also kill time. With all the good things that you will do, most definitely that God will bless you with more blessings and you will surely find a new job. Doing volunteer works is really worth while and this is really a fulfilling job. |
| There are a lot of opportunities you can try if you are unemployment. Most people engage in a small business. In fact, they excel faster as long as you have good skills at sales and marketing. If you want, you may apply for online jobs. There are plenty of that such as freelancers or virtual assistants. It's up to your choice. You have to ponder on what you really want. |
| That is true. One of the best thing to do during these hard financial times is to go for a good business. I have heard some who do well in business and it is not surprising because with enough knowledge and will to do things, anybody can excel in business. Anyway, thanks for sharing. | If you are not overly stressed out about being unemployed, and you have done everything in your power to get a new job, and it is just a matter of waiting, then I would suggest you take up a hobby or study something that will improve your effectiveness and versatility down the line. Take up a new skill or bit of knowledge or study a new subject. While it is most difficult to be self-taught, it is possible to study a new language or other skill, with some self-discipline. |
