| Yahoo! Answers: Job interview asked me if I was abused as a child...Is this lega I had a guy call me today from a Tennessee number. He apparently found my resume on Craigslist, asking me if I was still looking for a job. I told him yes, and he told me about this Admin position that his company was hiring for, which would also include modeling since his company had to deal with marketing. Whilst his was giving me a telephone interview, he had stated he would prefer to hire someone who had been abused in the past. Then he wanted to know about my history as a child to find out if I was ever abused. I told him I had, but he wanted specific details. I told him I didn't want to go into specifics as it made me uncomfortable to talk about it. I found this very weird. I believe this is illegal, isn't it? To ask personal questions for an interview? Perhaps this is some weird scam? I dunno...if anyone could advise, I'd appreciate it, thanks! |
| That guy who called you doesn't seem like a real employer. His asking for very personal details about you is very suspicious. He may just be looking for someone to take advantage of. Beware of people like him and avoid giving out personal details to people whom you really do not know. |
| I doubt the one who called you was really not a serious employer. Perhaps he is hiring people for his illegal jobs. Anyway, good thing you raised this query for the awareness of other people who are posting their resume online expecting for getting a good job. Well not all of these jobs offered online are legal so we should be cautious enough in dealing with it. Be wise enough. |

Do you really want to work for place that asks what you consider offensive questions during your interview?There are plenty of equally offensive ways to say "goodbye" and then you can spend your time looking for a job that respects your visions, morals and ideals in life. |
